food from fish for brain complexity to evolve and develop speech becoming Humans, in spectacular environment with cosmic view of North Star. We Finnic were born very happy indeed.

4. Values of Kindness, Truth, Sisu and True Forbearance were adopted to live in eternal harmony with the total cosmos as our purpose of life.

5. Harmony with nature is still the source of FINNIC HAPPINESS and our Ancient Values still prevail.

6. The Reciting of Verses from the Kalevala Finnic Epos still can be heard and enjoyed on occasion in old communities, and we see their message of love and tranquility is still valuable even in our current format.

Finnic Arctic Beers

Before the Ice Age ended our only Finnic luxuries were furs and ivory tusks from the walrus. Once we moved south we added amber from the Baltic Sea. Our ancient duty free store supply had no alcohol yet before we invented beer.

Since we were early to speak a language maybe the social lubricant was needed, as like elsewhere our water was clean and safe to drink, so the motivation was maybe to build up our gut digestive health, which one beer a day does according to modern science.

Some scholars believe that it was the quest for beer, not bread, that motivated our hunter-gatherer ancestors to settle down and cultivate grain. Archaeological evidence shows that beer took thousands of years to evolve into what we drink today.

Beer is basically fermented grain. First, moisture makes the grain sprout, priming its enzymes to transform starch into sugar. Yeast then converts the sugar into alcohol. Dark rye is today a major staple in Suomi-Finland, like it is south of us in Germany, which as a country shares the roots of modern beers with their neighbors. Humankind and civilization was truly built on speaking and drinking beer.

The Precession of the Equinoxes with its changing cosmic sky gave us the symbols of the Dharma Wheel of Life and the Big and Small Bear of good fortune cross and reversed fortune cross to guide us.

The harmony was to be achieved through kindness and truth with humble forbearance and enduring SISU of never giving up even if our eyes would be strained with drops of blood from the forehead as we pushed forward.

When Pytheas of Massalia sailed around this Ultima Thule Island up in the North he wrote he met us up there and called us very friendly people and he bought walrus ivory tusks in the very north, fur in the east and amber in the south.

This was some 1200 years before the Vikings appeared and some 1500 years before Kiyvan Rus by the Ros River as the first of the Russias became a nation with a little help by us Finnic who then were known as the Varangians, a name that translated into the guardians of the treasury from our three Finnic words starting with VAR meaning storage, guard and wealthy.
